Valerie joined MenAlive in 2005, volunteering anywhere she could but found her home backstage with costumes and production. She eventually became the costume manager and for eight years created costumes and long lasting friendships. In the fall of 2016 she decided it was time to try something else within the organization and changed her role to Backstage manager and Social Director. After the president of MenAlive asked her to join the board of directors she felt more than honored. Valerie spent a couple of months researching and learning as much as she could about the board. She then decided to join the board of directors in the spring of 2017. Valerie owns and operates a successful inclusion preschool in Orange County, and is supported by her loving husband, her son and two daughters.
